Entertaining and also inspiring in that you were able to take a very small thing - a Tabasco bottle in a Chipotle - and turn it into a good essay.

Thanks Drake! It was one of those rare sparks of inspiration and energy that I was able to jump on and not let up till I’d gotten it pretty much done. Then it sat for almost 3 months gathering dust before I had to force myself to complete it. Glad I did. I’m happy with it :)

Fancy a catchup? Would like to hear what you’re up to

Super interesting! When I was at Avery Island a few years back one story I heard was that Tabasco spread globally by sending salespeople on advance trips to countries and having them eat the local foods and sauces. Once they had a good handle on things they were able to suggest how Tabasco could be used in a culturally resonant way, and that’s part of how they became the most widely used condiment in the world….

Interesting article. Tabasco is great on a lot of things, but it's only Cholula for me on Mexican food. Which Chipotle is trying to be. I have both in my kitchen.

There was a hilarious ad showing a guy eating pizza and he keeps liberally shaking lots of Tabasco on the slice he's eating. The camera goes tight on a mosquito on the guy's arm. Guy doesn't smack or wave it off. He just lets the mosquito have its meal. The as the mosquito flys off it explodes in a fiery ball. The camera goes back on the guys face and he has a very small, satisfied smile.

This is why copywriters deserve good salaries.

It's brilliant, enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DVYz8pWkXw
