Thanks for your encouragement Alex, I'm glad you find them valuable. If you're happy to, I'd love to hear how you get on with them. I'm very interested in (a) where they are particularly helpful or unhelpful, and (b) if writers spot/come up with new Postures we can add to the list. Feel free to DM me if you wanna continue the conversation about them
Echoing others -- great to see these out in the wild!
"Like a sweet shop lined wall-to-wall with jars of colourful candy, the Postures show just how many different flavours your writing can have." <-- lovely visual metaphor
I love how this idea fleshed out! There's a lot more clarity here on how thinking postures can be a tool for writing. And you make a great point. It's helpful to clarify what posture you want to take when you write so that the output becomes aligned with the goal (or at least, what you want to happen for your piece). And yes, there isn't a side of the binary that is right - it's all about what you need at the moment! This is another idea worth experimenting on. 🙌
These are some great frameworks! Brilliant tips for clearing my head during writing.
Also, I think I relate a little too hard with that Joan Didion quote ;)
Thanks Yashraj, yeah Didion is the bomb
Such a helpful framework. This turned out great Harrison!
thank you Miche, I've missed chatting to you :) Are you doing WOP12?
Really like this, Harrison. I'm writing a piece today, so I'm eager to use these and see how it goes!
Defo let me know how it goes Rob
It went great, thank you! I used the teaching and remembering postures.
Nice! How easy/difficult? What was the topic?
This was informative, your intention to please your readers was successful, at least to me.
I will try to incorporate this and introspect next time I write a piece. 🙌
Amazing, that makes me happy Shraddha. Feel free to keep me posted on how it goes—I’m interested
Sure, I will share it with you soon :)
Okay cool
It’s the first time I read about writing postures and I think I need it in my content. It might help me become more coherent in my writing.
