Writing on the internet changes lives
In the past, your voice was limited by geography and connections. Now, writing online gives you the chance to impact people across the world. For those who get good at it, publishing their ideas online can open up friendships, collaborations, job offers, and income streams that would’ve been unthinkable just a generation ago.
As the writer Kevin Kelly said, you don’t need millions of followers to do something special—just “a thousand true fans” can fill your life with meaningful conversations and let you build a career around what matters to you.
But there’s a catch: writing that moves people is rare. As AI democratises writing tools, many people will be able to write decently on the surface, but only a few will develop the real skill. The world is about to be split in two: those who write well, and those who don’t.
Winners and losers
You see it already—good writers building careers, gaining influence, and even reshaping whole industries. These are people who can think clearly, communicate sharply, and connect on a human level.
But for those who don’t build that skill, the future isn’t so bright. As AI spreads, the writers who rely solely on it will become lost in the process, their ideas will be little more than regurgitated clichés bereft of individual thought, and few people will care about their message.
In a world where good writing and clear thinking are intertwined, failing to build those skills means falling behind. This isn’t just about being a good writer—it’s about learning to think, communicate, and create the life you want.
What writing well feels like
When you’ve truly learned to write well, you’re not just prompting bots or arranging words on a page.
You know how to leverage the natural patterns of writing.
You can generate ideas and communicate them clearly.
You can write in your own voice.
You know how to troubleshoot problems using principles of creativity.
You stop procrastinating, you feel good, and you enjoy a consistent output.
As readers start demanding genuine voices over AI-generated content, you’ll be able to repeatedly deliver writing that is sincere, full of life, and entirely your own.

Why you can count on me
I combine an MFA education from the world’s best art school, structured coaching using the GROW™ model, and hands-on experience as the dedicated Writing Mentor at David Perell’s renowned Write of Passage school.
I achieved the highest possible score in the Write of Passage’s editor training program, where students said things like, “You knew what was important to say.”
I’m not a million-selling author or writing professor; I’m just a few steps ahead of you. But that means I remember the challenges of starting out, and I know the tools and strategies that work. I can make sure you build a skill set that’s uniquely yours, grounded in proven principles and processes you’ll actually want to use.
Get in touch to see if we’re a fit
If you’d like to discuss mentoring, email me, telling me:
what you’re looking to achieve with your writing, and
what’s currently getting in the way.
We won’t be a good fit if you’re looking for hacks or quick fixes, or if you only want to write mic-drop twitter threads.
We will be a good fit if you genuinely enjoy nonfiction writing and you have a strong why—some combination of a healthy ego, a well-defined project, a love of language, and a desire to make an impact.
I only take on a limited number of clients to ensure each one gets the attention they need, so if this resonates, get in touch before spots fill up.
"Think of a sounding board, but better - like an intellectual creativity board. That’s one of the many talents Harrison offers in the writing world: he stimulates, nurtures, and empowers the creative inside of you. From high level brainstorming to practical tips on language and structure, his guidance would be a huge advantage to anyone looking to take their writing to the next level."
- Michael Skinner, Entrepreneur

"It's been a pleasure having Harrison in our Editor Program for Write of Passage. He absolutely aced the editor "exam" during our training (60/60), and has helped two cohorts of students around a range of technical and psychological blocks. His experience in art school enables him to give a perspective shift to anyone he works with."
– Michael Dean, Writer and OG Editor-in-Chief at Write of Passage
★
"Harrison is a discerning, collaborative, and attentive creative partner. He’s helped me out with my writing for over a year now and I just know that whatever piece I’m working on will be a few notches better once it’s got a ‘Harrison pass’. He’s also incredibly resourceful, being able to pull in a variety of prompts and references from his ever-growing library."
- Becky Isjwara, Branding & Marketing

"The value of your coaching comes from those moments that are difficult to replicate alone. It could be that writing 'reps' are almost as effective alone as they are with a coach. But those 'aha' moments that happen during conversation are unique. Just bouncing ideas gave me access to a part of my brain that is usually difficult to access alone."
- Justin Nothling, Entrepreneur
★
"When you call out things I didn't notice and when you put on your mentoring hat, I honestly feel like you have a lot of great ideas, Harrison, and you really have a good understanding of the craft because of your experience."
- Linart Seprioto, Marketing Management Trainee

“Harrison, I wanted to let you know I was able to get out of the house and find a coffee shop to write for over an hour tonight. I completed a SFD [shitty first draft]. I really appreciate it!”
- Kevin Doffing, Company President
★
"I went from a mess of ideas to writing pieces that connected with people. Harrison has a skill and approach to bring out the best in your writing. I've seen this improve in my writing and how I work with teams."
- Dominik Gmeiner, Senior Design Leader

"Harrison helped me overcome a creative block while I was rewriting a few essays. His questions—always rich and unexpected—pushed me to think and feel differently. He's the kind of person who opens your eyes to things you didn’t realize were missing. He especially brings such positive energy to writing. It’s contagious. Suddenly, something that felt like a grind becomes playful and, dare I say, fun. Perhaps that’s the most valuable thing Harrison has given me: the joy of writing again."
- Hugo Lebarrois, Product Manager

More about me
I’m a nonfiction nerd and creativity obsessive.
After winning an O'Shaughnessy Scholarship and completing the Write of Passage bootcamp, I landed roles as Editor, Gym Leader, and Writing Mentor. I worked 1:2:1 with students and prospects, helping them to raise their awareness and take ownership of their practice. Students often credited my intuitive questioning and deep craft knowledge with their decision to enrol. I achieved a 46% conversion rate in student sign ups using this approach.
Before joining Write of Passage, I built a $2,000,000 tech company (think Slack for large construction sites), where I raised funding from Europe’s leading tech-for-good VCs, hired teams, and managed product development.
I’m an artist at heart, with a BFA and MFA from Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in London. My superpower is building communities around creative and entrepreneurial projects. I’m particularly passionate about 1:2:1 and cohort-based learning. I co-run a cohort-based course called Reboot about alternative business education, and I write this blog—The New Workday—about thinking creatively.
“You can. You should. And if you have the courage to begin, you will.”
